BANANA PUDDING

3/4 CUPS SUGAR
1/4 TEASPOON SALT
2 CUPS SCALDED MILK
1 TEASPOON VANILLA
1/3 CUP FLOUR
2 EGGS
2 TABLESPOON SUGAR
4 SLICED BANANAS
COOK FIFTEEN MINUTES: MILK,SUGAR, FLOUR,
ADD EGGS TO SCALED MILK
ALTERNATE VANILLA WAFERS AND BANANAS
POUR MIXTURE OVER AND
PUT IN OVEN TO BROWN MERRENGUE

1/2 POUND BUTTER
2 CUPS SUGAR 4 CUPS SELF RISING FLOUR
1 POUND CHERRIES(RED AND GREEN)
1 POUND CRYSTALIZED PINEAPPLE
1 PKG FIGS
1 POUND DATES
3 PINTS TO 2 QUARTS OF NUTS
2 TABLESPOON MIXED SPICES
6 EGGS
3 TABLESPOON GRAPE JUICE
PUT IN LARGE ROASTING PAN AND STIR EVERY 10 MINUTES FOR 1 HOUR
AT 300 DEGREES
PACK IN CAKE PANS AND WHEN SET UNMOLD
THIS IS A DELICIOUS FRUIT CAKE

DATE BALLS

1 STICK OF MARGERINE
1 SLANT CUP FLOUR
1 PKG DATES CUT SMALL
3 CUPS RICE KRISPIES
PUT BUTTER, SUGAR, AND DATES IN HEAVY SAUCE PAN
STIR CONSTANTLY ON LOW HEAT UNTIL A SMOOTH PASTE IS FORMED
REMOVE FROM HEAT AND STIR IN RICE KISPIES MASKING SOME UP
USE TEASPOON TO FORM SMALL BALLS
ROLL IN COCOANUT AND DRY ON WAXED PAPER

APPLE SAUCE CAKE

1 3/4 STICK BUTTER
2 CUPS SUGAR
2 EGGS
3 CUPS FLOUR
2 CUPS APPLESAUCE
2 TEASPOON BAKING SODA
1 CUP RAISINS
1 CUP CHOPPED NUTS
1 CUP CUT CRYSTALIZED FRUIT
1/2 TEASPOON EACH OF NUTMEG, CLOVES, CINNAMON
1 TEASPOON VANILLA
COOK IN STEM PAN AT 300 DEGREES FOR 1 HOUR
TOPPING
1 TEASPOON BUTTER
1 CUP BROWN OR WHITE SUGAR
1/4 CUP SWEET MILK
COOK 2 1/2 MINUTES AND POUR OVER CAKE WHILE HOT
WILL KEEP IN REFRIGERATOR SEVERAL DAYS

PINEAPPLE ICEBOX CAKE HEAVENLY HASH

1/4 POUND BUTTER OR MARGERINE
1 CUP SUGAR
4 EGG YOLKS
1 CUP NUTS(PREFERABLE ALMONDS)
1 NO. 2 CAN CRUSHED PINEAPPLE
1/2 PINT HEAVY CREAm
4 egg whites
pinch of salt
1 pound box cocoanut macaroons
1 4oz bottle marashino cherries (chopped)
CRUSH OR ROLL THE MACAROONS UNTIL FINE.
GREASE A RECTANGULAR PAN-ABOUT 10X18 INCHES AND AT LEAST 2 INCHES DEEP WITH MARGERINE
PACK ABOUT 2/3 OF THE CRUMBS IN THE BOTTOM ENOUGH TO COVER THE BOTTOM OF THE DISH
CREAM BUTTER AND SUGAR TOGETHER AS FOR CAKE
ADD BEATEN EGG YOLKS,NUTS, PINEAPPLE, AND CHOPPED CHERRIES, USING ALL THE JUICE FROM THE CHERRIES.
MIX INGREDIENTS THOROUGHKY,
WHIP THE CREAM UNTIL STIFF AND FOLD IN
BEAT EGG WHITES UNTIL STIFF AND FOLD IN
A VERY LITTLE ALMOND FLAVORING MAYBE ADDED
POUR MIXTURE IN PAN AND COVER WITH REMAINING CRUMBS
LET STAND IN REFRIGERATOR 24 HOURS BEFORE SERVING
CUT IN SQUARES AND SERVE WITH A TOPPING OF WHIPPED CREAM
SERVES ABOUT 18
THIS IS A PERFECTLY DELICIOUS DESSER AND GOOD FOR A PARTY AS IT CAN BE PREPARED THE DAY BEFORE.
