CHESS PIE

1 CUP SUGAR
1 CUP BUTTER
3 EGG YOLKS
1 EGG WHITE
3 TABLESPOON WATER
1 TEASPOON VANILLA
CREAM BUTTER AND SUGAR AS FOR CAKE,
ADD YOLK AND 1 EGG WHITE, BEAT TILL STIFF AND FOAMY
ADD WATER AND FLAVORING
AGAIN BEATING UNTIL WELL MIXED
OUR INTO PANLINED WITH UNBAKED PASTRY AND COOK
THIS IS DELICIOUS, WHEN DONE TOP WITH DAMION PRESERVES AND MERINGUE
PUT BACK IN OVEN TO COOK MERINGUE OR YOU MAY SERVE WITHOUT MERINGUE AND PRESERVES
