DATE-PECAN BREAD

3 CUPS ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
3 TABLESPOONS BAKING POWDER
3/4 TEASPOON SALT
1/2 CUP BROWN SUGAR
3/4 CUP CHOPPED PECANS
1 CUP CHOPPED PITTED DATES
1 EGG,BEATEN
1 CUP MILK
4 TABLESPOONS MELTED SHORTENING
SIFT FLOUR WITH BAKING POWDER AND SALT
ADD BROWN SUGAR AND MIC WELL
ADD PECANS AND DATES
COMBINE EGG, MILK, AMD SHORTENING
STIR LIGHTLY INTO DATE-PECAN MIXTURE
BAKED IN AN OILED 9X5X3 INCH LOAF PAN
AT 350 DEGREES
1 HOUR
MAKES 1 LOAF
